There are many opportunites for you to help others here at RAH in many different ways. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
Help with RAH Activities

You can help our participants directly by volunteering at scheduled RAH activities and programs. At activities, volunteers help assist participants and socialize with them. Volunteers may also assist staff members by serving food, setting up, cleaning up and/or supervising portions of the activity.

Teach RAH Participants
We provide classes to RAH participants on a regular basis to help them learn valuable skills. If you have a skill you'd like to teach, we may be able to use your help. (subject to scheduling restrictions) Below are a few ideas of things you could help teach.

Services We Need
There are several things we do on a regular basis to run RAH. Below are some things that we could use some help with.
- Create art for decorating our building, e.g. paintings, sculpture, etc.
- Decorate our building for a holiday or special event
- Help with exterior landscaping or outdoor planting and upkeep
- Help with fund raising -- We need qualified volunteers who can help us writing grants, contacting donors, and coordinating special events.
- Organize a group fund-raiser: bike-a-thon, run, bowling, rodeo, intercollegiate competition, concert, dance, etc.
- Produce a video about our program
- Professional and/or trade services -- computer support, electrical, plumbing, lawn services, snow removal, carpentry, carpet cleaning, detail cleaning for vans, etc.
- Provide a health screening clinic, e.g. vision, hearing, etc.
- Set up an accounting/bookkeeping program
- Take photographs of programs and participants, create a photo essay
- Update or redo our program brochure
- Write a human interest article for the newspaper
- Write grants
- Write letter of request for donation of goods to be sent to local businesses
Service Projects
In addition to the things we do on a regular basis we are also in need of people to help us with the following things.
- Build carport or covering for vans
- Create a display board for our program
- Install a cement pad (and pavilion if possible) for picnic tables in our park
- Install lighting for our flag and flagpole
- Install lighting for our main entrance and walkway
- Install rain gutters for building and storage shed
- Paint exterior of main building
- Paint storage sheds
- Repair or replace roof of storage building.
- Resurface parking lot and repaint lines
Other Ideas
Below are other ways you can help out at RAH.
- Organize a group to help out with a service project -- Ideas: yard work, landscaping, painting, building clean up, building decoration, woodworking, building repair and maintenance, etc.
- Organize a scavenger hunt or collection for needed program supplies.
- Organize an awareness fair
- Organize/sponsor a special event -- Ideas: yard sale, car wash, concert, walk-a-thon, fair, etc.
- Collect Christmas gifts that can be given out to program participants
- Collect aluminum for our recycling program
